Arena
Arena Freeflow Pull Buoy II
- Color Plum/arctic lime
- Weight 4.23 oz
- Material Polyethylene foam
- Dimensions 8.9"L x 5.5"W
Small, low-profile, and out of the way of a fast stroke.
At 8.9 by 5.5 inches the Arena is the smallest buoy here, and at 120 grams it's the one that vanishes into a race bag. That's the brief: a low-profile float that doesn't slow down the stroke it's meant to be training.
This is the second generation of Arena's Freeflow, with more buoyancy and more stability built in than the version before it. The foam is polyethylene rather than the EVA most of the others use, PVC free, and cut with contours that sit against the thighs. The plum and arctic-lime colourway is loud in a way we don't mind at all, because you can find it from the end of the lane.
Competitive and fitness swimmers are who this is built for, and it shows in what it doesn't do: it never crowds your stroke or rides up under the hips. What we appreciate most is how little it changes the feel of swimming — you notice the legs are being held up and nothing else. For a fast set in a short course pool, that's exactly right.
Bottom Line
The one we pack when space is tight and the set is fast: small, light, and out of the way of your stroke.
