Hoka
Hoka Clifton 10
- Toe Box Slightly wider
- Shoe Type Road running
- Listed For Men
A pillowy landing for long, easy runs on pavement and concrete.
The Clifton 10 lands softer than anything else in this group. The midsole has that pillow feel, the toe box is slightly wider than a standard running shoe, and the base under the heel is broad enough that the softness doesn't turn into wobble. A high arch that aches after an hour on pavement is exactly what this shoe is for.
Where we liked it most is the long, slow end of running. The rocker rolls you through the stride, the cushioning stays consistent from the first mile to the last, and it grips wet concrete better than a pillow this soft has any right to. It is not a fast shoe — the softness takes the snap out of a hard push-off — and we were happy to leave it in the rotation for easy days.
Wear is the catch, and it is the one thing that keeps this out of the top spot: the upper and outsole can start showing their age inside six months. Treat them as a soft-landing shoe for easy days rather than your only pair, and you'll get more out of them.
Bottom Line
Softness is the whole point of the Clifton 10, and it is the plushest ride here — just plan on replacing it sooner than the rest.
