Shrinks as you drink so nothing sloshes; our pick for medium-distance runs.
The bottle gets smaller as you drink, and that's the whole idea. The ExoDraw's soft flask collapses in on itself with each mouthful, so the weight in your hand drops as the run goes on and there's nothing sloshing around to throw off your arm swing. The push/pull Race Cap gives you a mouthful without unscrewing anything, which is what you want at pace.
The sleeve is doing more work than the padding suggests. There's a soft layer between your palm and the flask and an adjustable strap across the back of your hand, so a full bottle doesn't hang off your fingers. What we liked most is how little pressure it takes: the flask sits in the hand rather than being gripped by it, and a small stash pocket takes a gel or a key.
Where it earns its keep is the medium run with a fountain or an aid station on the route. The flask empties faster than a rigid bottle of similar size, so plan a refill stop rather than treating it as self-supported hydration for a two-hour effort. For everything from a lunchtime loop to a half marathon, it's the easiest carry in this group.
Bottom Line
The soft flask we reach for on everyday training: it shrinks as you drink, so there's less weight and no slosh, and it still goes in the dishwasher.
What We Like
- Collapses as you drink, so no sloshing
- Soft padded sleeve sits easy in the hand
- Dishwasher safe despite being a soft flask
- Stash pocket for a gel or key
Worth Noting
- Pocket carries a gel, not a phone
- Small capacity for very long runs
